It has been said that to appreciate the present you have to understand the past. Learning about Latter-day Saint history will help you more fully appreciate and understand the Church today.
Religion 341 covers the beginnings of the Church and ends with Joseph Smith's martyrdom. Religion 342 covers the time period from Brigham Young to Lorenzo Snow. Religion 343 covers from Joseph F. Smith to the present.
Why do I need a manual?
The Latter-day Saint history institute manual, Church History in the Fulness of Times, contains the history of the Church in the Latter-days. In it you will find many accounts of early Latter-day Saints and follow the Church's progress from its founding with six members to a worldwide church. This manual is used for all three Latter-day history institute courses.
