Certificates
The following certificates are available to honor students who complete institute of religion courses with credit:
- A Certificate of Course Completion may be awarded to students upon completion of each institute course of study.
- A Certificate of Achievement may be awarded to students who have completed eight semester hours (or twelve quarter hours) in approved institute courses, including at least four semester hours (or six quarter hours) in the scripture-based courses listed below.
- Book of Mormon (121, 122, 123, 421, 422, 423, 521, 522, 523)
- New Testament (211, 212, 213, 411, 412, 413, 511, 512, 513)
- Old Testament (301, 302, 303, 501, 502, 503)
- Doctrine and Covenants (324, 325, 3261, 524, 525, 526)
- Pearl of Great Price (327, 527)
- Teaching of the Living Prophets (333, 533)
- Doctrines of the Gospel (430, 431, 432, 530, 531, 532)
- A Graduation Diploma is awarded to students who have completed fourteen semester hours (or twenty-one quarter hours) in approved institute courses, including at least eight semester hours (or twelve quarter hours) in the scripture-based courses listed above. These eight semester hours are to include at least four semester hours (or six quarter hours) in Book of Mormon studies. (A student should study the entire Book of Mormon in earning these credits.)
- A Certificate of Advanced Achievement may be awarded for each additional eight semester hours (or twelve quarter hours) of institute credit completed after meeting the graduation requirements. However, earning these additional credits cannot begin until the semester (or quarter) after the graduation requirements are met. A maximum of three semester or four quarter hours of credit in approved general courses (Religion 010R–099R) may be applied toward these certificates.<.li>
Worthiness Clearance
A worthiness clearance from the student’s bishop is required for all certificates except course completion.
